Kesha Rose Sebert: A Tangled Tale

The cat is out of the bag! Singer and rapper Kesha is in an ugly legal fight with her producer, who goes by the moniker of Dr, Luke. She says he’s a manipulative bastard who is not only ruining her career, but also has raped her, abused her physically and psychologically and is purposely stalling her career by disallowing her to nullify the contract she has with his company, Kemosabe Records. It’s a nasty situation. I wonder who’s telling the truth.

This is a nauseating, sordid, sell-some-newspapers kind of story. I have no doubt that Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald) has had plenty of sex with Kesha. After all, she drips sexiness! She also makes no secret about her sexual prowess, both in pictures and print. Have you ever seen a picture of her where her crotch and breasts weren’t on full display? After spending ten years working with someone, there are bound to be occasions when you both need to ‘unwind’ after a long night of writing songs and producing music. I also have no doubt that this scum-bucket also was manipulating her into making poor decisions, probably all decisions – financially, musically and the direction of her career. His primary concern was keeping Kesha in the limelight, making popular music so he could fatten his wallet. He did this by putting under exclusive contract with his company. She didn’t stand a chance! He had her by the proverbial balls and he knew it. And now, finally, Kesha knows it too. And she does not like it!

I’m sorry Kesha Rose Sebert, you can’t have it both ways. You can’t be a sex bomb with the morality of a ten dollar hooker and expect the world to be on your side when you cry sexual foul. A few years back, I read an article that quoted Kesha talking about how she would pick up guys and give them blow jobs, then order them out of her room or her car or wherever she happened to be performing fellatio. Then she would call her mother and brag about it to her. She claimed her mother would jokingly call her a whore and they would both have a good laugh about it. Not too long ago, one of my favorite celebrity gossip sites published a picture of Kesha. She was lying on her back, in bed with her hands squeezing her breasts and a huge puddle of semen that extended from between her tits down to her navel. She looked very satisfied. What a great way to be remembered, huh? Not exactly auditioning for Dove soap girl with that kind of exposure.

Fast forward to this year. Kesha claims that her wholesome demeanor and character have been dragged through the mud. She’s ruined. She can’t produce new material and can’t tour because of all this legal battle. Although we all sympathize with her to a certain extent, I think she’s worn out the story. Take it out of the headlines and into the court room. Clean up your act. Stay out of the cheap rag tabloids. And for shits sake, cover up your assets ever now and then if you want people to sympathize with you.

I hope she wins her case. If what she claims is true, then I hope Gottwald gets his ass nailed to the wall. No one should have to endure abuse of any kind, regardless of your public stature, your financial means or your notable promiscuity and blow job skills. But please don’t make yourself out to be something you’re clearly not – a helpless victim. Ten years is a long time to put up with this type of crap. In those ten years, Kesha has become a global success, collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry and gotten pretty damn rich while doing so. Why did it take so long for the shit to hit the fan? She should have exposed this abuse years ago. She should have read her contract closer. She shouldn’t have relied so heavily on one person to hold all the cards while managing her career. Maybe she should have been more involved in financial decisions…or the musical direction she was heading. Okay, I know hindsight is 20/20. It’s easy to be an ‘arm chair quarterback’. But, you know what? It’s never too late to make things right or do the right thing. So, I say: Go get ‘em K-Dog! Bury his ass!
