WrestleMania 30During a WWE press conference today it was revealed that WrestleMania 30 will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA on April 6, 2014.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu on WrestleMania 30: “We are proud to have played host to some of the greatest sports and entertainment events in the world over the past two years, and hosting WrestleMania is a great way to continue this unprecedented streak. We look forward to hosting WWE and its global fan base as they celebrate this historic milestone at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.”

Key points from today’s WrestleMania 30 Press Conference:

John Saboor, WWE SVP of Special Events, introduced New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. Landrieu noted the major events that the city has hosted recently, and the events that they will be hosting in the near future. Landrieu then announced that the city will host WrestleMania 30 on April 6, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Landrieu discussed the economic impact that the event will have before introducing WWE CEO Vince McMahon.

– McMahon called WrestleMania “a celebration” and that no town embodied celebration more than New Orleans. McMahon called WWE and New Orleans a “perfect match.”

R-Truth came out to sing as members of the press & business community looked on in silence. No one wanted to sing along with him when prompted. Weirdest and awkward moment of the press conference.

– Saboor then introduced New Orleans Arena General Manager Alan Freeman, who discussed his history with WWE. Freeman hyped the success of the event and noted their failed bids in the past. He said that there were expecting 70,000 people from all over the world for WrestleMania 30. He promised that the city will put on a great event and that WWE will want to come back again and again.

– Saboor introduced WE Executive VP of Creative Stephaine McMahon. She came out to her “All Grown Up” song and made a slight diss of the song saying how she’s been all grown up for some time now and that the music is outdated. Stephanie talked about how much attention the announcement has made through social media as New Orleans Saints quaterback Drew Brews was one of the main people to make the announcement on Twitter. She also talked about how WWE stars will be visiting schools, local hospitals all in the name of making smiles and promises New Orleans they will have one hell of a party next year.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson talks about how his roots in with New Orleans are deep as he was able to shoot multiple movies there. He talks about being a kid at the age of 20 in college playing football and coming to New Orleans for a game. He remembers how his team lost and that it’s still something he hasn’t forgotten to this day. Rocky is excited and proud that WrestleMania is 30 is coming to New Orleans next in. He ends the conference by signing when “The Saints Go Marching In”

.Saboor then introduced the final guest of today’s WrestleMania 30 press conference, John Cena. No sign of Triple H as it appears he won’t be taking part in this conference. Cena called the announcement “momentous,” and said that there is no better place to¬†celebrate¬†WrestleMania’s 30th anniversary than the Superdome. Cena talked about the city coming back from great adversity such as Hurricane Katrina and how everyone came together at a time of great tragedy. Cena said that WrestleMania will bring people in from around the world. Cena end the WrestleMania press conference saying everyone will get a celebration worthy of “this great city”.

The Rock joins John Cena for a photo op as they pose looking at one another (hyping up their match at WrestleMania 29 and possibly WrestleMania 30?).

Big Show, Mark Henry, Layla, Alberto Del Rio, Great Khali, The Funkateers, John Cena, The Rock, Brodus Clay. and R-Truth all come out to join Cena and Rock for a photo op to end the WrestleMania 30 press conference.
