Are you a big Wu-Tang Clan? Well you will find this very interesting! A New Wu-Tang Clan album can be yours if the price is right and you can wait 88 years to hear it!

That’s right! 88 years if you want to hear Wu-Tang Clan’s Clan’s one-of-a-kind album, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. The 31-track album, recorded at the Clan’s Staten Island home, is the the only copy in the world except for a second copy which is intended to be displayed in a museum.

Forbes is reporting that the buyer of the album, which is now being offered as private sale overseen by Paddle 8 (the same company that auctioned Kurt Cobain’s credit card), will have the rights to release it commercially in 88 years. “We felt that retail commercialization and mass replication would dilute the status of the album as a one-off work of art and compromise the integrity of our statement,” producer Cilvaringz explained on the auction site. “We are honored that the Wu-Tang Clan has selected Paddle8 as the exclusive partner for the extraordinary sale of their one-of-a-kind album—a work of art that brings together the nine voices of the Wu-Tang Clan, perhaps for the last time,” said Gilkes in a statement. “The album is a boundary-pushing masterpiece, and we are eager to make it available to Paddle8′s global collecting audience.”

When you buy a painting or a sculpture, you’re buying that piece rather than the right to replicate it ,” explained RZA in a Q&A made available on the microsite. “Owning a Picasso doesn’t mean you can sell prints or reproductions, but that you’re the sole owner of a unique original. And that’s what Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is. It’s a unique original rather than a master copy of an album.”

Not sure how many of us will be around in 88 years to check out this Wu-Tang Clan album but in the meantime check out their new album, A Better Tomorrow, which is out new! Wu-Tang Clan forever baby!
