And in the main event, Dustin Rhodes, Orange Cassidy & Best Friends vs. Kip Sabian, Trent Seven & The Butcher and The Blade. On that note let’s talk RAMPAGE baby!
Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, and Tony Schiavone
MATCH 1: JON MOXLEY VS SAMMY GUEVARA
Sammy comes from out of the corner with a running knee to the face to surprise and stun Moxley! A wise move by the rookie as the action soon spills to the outside. Surrounded by steel and concrete out there is not good for neither man as soon the action returns back inside the ring. Superplex by Moxley followed by a cover for a quick kick out. Kick to the ribs of Sammy followed by chops. Sammy counters with chops of his own. Both men are now trading strikes as Moxley gets the best of the encounter. Series of leapfrogs from Sammy that culminates in a pretty dropkick to ground Moxley. To the top rope we go now as Sammy rakes the back of Moxley. Moxley ends up bitting around the head of Sammy as Sammy eventually pushes him off the top rope and delivers a stomp to send him fumbling outside. Insult to injury as Sammy bites on the ear of Moxley as he bites onto Moxley’s earring and rips it off! Good Gawd what a bloody ear folks! Sammy continues bitting on the ear while delivering a boot and flurry of strikes to that damaged ear. Sammy and Tay end up sharing a kiss as Moxley takes the opportunity to do a dive in between the ropes to crash into Sammy. Moxley tosses Sammy back into the ring and charges successfully with a lariat. Moxley follows up with right hands and a overhead German suplex. Sammy connects with a big time cutter as Moxley kicks out. Sammy tries looking for the GTH but Moxley counters! Sammy comes right back with a counter and a Walls of Jericho attempt. It’s locked on tight in the middle of the ring as Moxley wills himself out of it to buy some time. Both men are now trading strikes which is a big mistake for Sammy. Moxley delivers one devastating elbow strike as he goes for a cover that’s another near fall. Sammy rolls out of the ring to recover as Moxley gives chase. Sammy comes in with a high knee and a thrust kick to Moxley’s face! This sets up Moxley to be laid out on a table as Sammy climbs to the top rope to connect with a senton! What a spot! Sammy tries a crossbody on Moxley from inside the ring but Moxley counters with a nice setup for the piledriver. It’s a near fall as Moxley gets in his bulldog chokehold submission. Sammy counters as Moxley quickly reverses it but gets the death rider from Sammy. Another senton from Sammy as it’s another near fall! Sammy props up Moxley on the top rope, looking for a superplex as Moxley tosses him off. Sammy is relentless and comes back looking for the Spanish fly as Moxley somehow is able to apply his trademark strikes to the back of the head and makes Sammy tap out with the bulldog choke for the win.
Winner:Jon Moxley (15:00)
Rating: ****
BANGER! BANGER! BANGER! If ever one match folks need to check out on their DVR from this episode, I highly recommend checking out this match.
Post match Moxley grabs a microphone to call out Hangman Adam Page. Page comes out as the two men brawl. Security comes out to try and separate the two men to end this segment.
Footage is shown of the lovely Saraya as she talks about how strong the womens division is as she reiterates looking to become the womens champion. She reminds Britt Baker of their upcoming tag match as she warns Britt that she (Saraya) has access to some of the best women on the AEW roster as we head to a commercial break.
We are back as FTR as in the ring disappointed that they let the fans down. Cash talks about how 2022 for them is a legacy year for them. They look forward to seeing what’s in store in 2023 as their attention turns to the Gunn Boys. They want to put them in their place as they promise to whip their behinds this Wednesday on DYNAMITE.
Footage of Jade Cargill is shown as Leila shows cell footage to Jade of Red Velvet being salty last week. Jade tells Velvet to get with the program already as she tells Bow Wow if he steps up in her business, he’ll hear from her lawyer Smart Mark Sterling. Please for the love of Wrestling Gawds no more of this Bow Wow angle.
MATCH 2: SKY BLUE VS BRITT BAKER
Match is barely on for sixty seconds as we soon go into a Picture in Picture break. Come on man! Britt delivers an elbow strike to ground Blue. Strong whip into the corner as Blue falls in the corner. Britt delivers a series of boot strikes to the face as she gets Blue from behind to deliver elbow strikes to the face. Blue sent into the ropes as Baker clotheslines her into next week! It’s been Baker dominating during this picture break as we now head into a full screen commercial break. We are back as Blue connects with a thrust kick! She goes in for a pin but Baker kicks out! Butterfly suplex attempt by Baker as she goes for a cover of her own as Blue kicks out. Baker gets in a thrust kick of her own followed by a nice setup for the curb stomp from off the ropes to end this match.
Winner:Britt Baker (6:00)
Rating: ***
Pretty good outing and effort from both women. Very smooth, loose, and solid chemistry. The young Sky Blue held her end up very well and continues to come off light years ahead of some of the other women on the roster. No problem with Britt winning as she can’t lose any matches right now leading up to that tag match with Saraya.
Post match Baker adds more insult to injury by applying the lockjaw to Blue when Shida comes out, kendo stick in hand and all! She takes it to the bodies of Rebel and Baker as they scatter like roaches. Nice stare down by Shida and Hayter to end the segment.
The man formerly known as 10 is interviewed by Jim Ross as he tries to explain his reasons for leaving Dark Order. Sorry but all I could focus on was how pretty this man looked. Yes folks he looks too pretty. He’s giving me a Randy Orton in Evolution vibe but with a soft voice. Not sure to be scared of him or ask him what modeling agency he belongs to and ask for those contacts.
MATCH 3: EXODUS PRIME VS WARDLOW
Annnnnnnnnnd it’s over via swing to the symphony…of DESTRUCTION power bombs! With a name like Exodus Prime I was expecting better, foolish me!
Winner:Wardlow (1:00)
Rating: NR
All about setting up Wardlow getting his hands on Samoa Joe which is fine.
Post-match Wardlow demands to go 1 on 1 with Samoa Joe as he ain’t gonna sit idle any longer! Joe appears on the titantron to tell him they will fight on his terms. It’ll be going down on DYNAMITE, Wednesday December 28th folks.
MATCH 3: DUSTIN RHODES, ORANGE CASSIDY & BEST FRIENDS VS. KIP SABIAN, TRENT SEVEN & THE BUTCHER AND THE BLADE
Beretta and Seven kick things off as they exchange big chops and elbow strikes. Both men take each other down in double clothesline fashion as all the men enter the ring to brawl. It clears out quickly as Cassidy and Kip go at it as soon Sabian goes outside the ring. Looks like he’s hiding behind Penelope Ford and The Bunny. Cassidy gives chase while Butcher and Beretta are locking it up in the ring. Double team action by Butcher and Blade to isolate Beretta as we head to our final commercial break. Our main event continues as the Natural Dustin Rhodes comes in with the hot tag as he delivers powerslams to Seven, Butcher, Blade, and anybody else that wants some. Pin attempt made by Dustin but it gets broken up by Butcher. Cassidy briefly was tagged in but he tags back in Beretta as Sabian goes over the top rope to crash into everyone on the outside. Bunny tries to pull some shenanigans as Cassidy sees her coming and drops to the ground, pretending to be hurt. Ford gets in the ring next as Danhausen steps in and drops on the ground as well, pretending to be hurt. Referee turns around and sees both men on the ground as he ejects both women from the match. Dustin breaks up a pin attempt by Seven on Beretta. Dustin connects with a Dallas Destroyer on Sabian and follows up with the trademark kick to the groin, Cassidy connects with a orange punch on Seven while Dustin connects the bulldog on Seven for the victory.
Winner:Dustin Rhodes and Best Friends (11:00)
Rating: ***
All around fun, energetic pace and loose. Dustin continues to amaze me at this stage of the game in his wrestling career. I can’t help but wonder how will his in-ring career end. Some will argue it should’ve ended when he faced his brother Cody and I agree 100% with that opinion. Maybe…just maybe it will come at the hands of MJF in a Career vs Title match. Meantime, great tsg match to end what honestly was overall a great show.

THE FINAL SCORE: REVIEW
VERY GOOD
Can’t believe the hour went by so fast as honestly this was an enjoyable episode of RAMPAGE. Most fun I’ve had in quite a while as Tony Khan and crew found the right mix for this this episode. I would imagine fans will really appreciate this episode since nothing ROH took up TV time. This is purely about AEW representation which is what it should be all about. Curious to see where things go with Res Velvet and Jade Cargill. Whether we like it or not Bow Wow is going to be involved. However this is going to go down, hopefully it ends with a new TBS Champion being crowned. My vote would be for Velvet, Kiera Hogan or if they do lock in a certain woman getting ready to do her thing in New Jason real soon, that be great too. Great seeing the Wardlow going back to basics as this is all about the veteran in Samoa Joe putting over the future in Wardlow. I’m curious from you 411MANIACS who would you like to see dethrone Jade Cargill, and the idea I have there on Dustin vs MJF, as well as RAMPAGE this week so sound off!
